Utah Jazz: Wedge Flare RIP

  • Jazz run some great stuff out of their wedge series.
  • Here is a quick hitter trying to steal one at the rim. RIP screens off mid-post and low-post catches are extremely popular right now. Especially big to small and vice versa to steal a quick bucket

Memphis Grizzlies: Touch ES Roll Replace

  • Nice opening ATO from the Grizzlies who do about as good of a job as anybody in the NBA right now attacking tags and their movement into a P&R
  • Here they clear out the baseline corner to set up the ES Roll Replace with a quality shooter and a downhill driver like Ja demanding attention off the drop, makes for an easy finish at the rim for the screener.

NBA: Cut the Switch

  • Teams are always looking for ways to counter the switch both on and off the ball.
  • Many teams will switch high and aggressive especially against a dynamic perimeter player or deadly outside shooter. Here’s a great counter off the ball within your split game to utilize versus an aggressive switching defense.

Utah Jazz: Wedge Flare Block Pin

  • Another great wedge set from the Jazz. Much like the post rips, the block pins from the triangle offense are extremely en vouge right now.
  • Love how they use this flare to try and distort any chance of middle help off the pin.

Brooklyn Nets: Touch Decoy STS

  • Another extremely popular set concept in the NBA right now is running STS action off a P&R with the roller as the last screener.
  • One of the most common actions off this are a flare or backscreen into a middle pindown off the P&R.
  • Here the Nets set up that action but the shooter fakes the backscreen and sprints off the screen up the middle from the ball screener.
